Carbon credits pay about $30 per ton of carbon that's not put into the atmosphere.
Thus, burning ag waste would in theory be eligible for carbon credits. Growing crops in order to make charcoal would not be.
We hope this changes in Kyoto II. At some point some of us will be working to make sure of it. In the meantime, we appreciate suggestions on how best to make sure this happens.
